►IS TROPICAL- Signed to Kitsune, This London 3-piece have been described as sounding like The Strokes if they gave up hard-rock-Thin Lizzy and listened to ratatat/justice. An Electronica sound concerned more with creating hooks and melody, but won’t shy away from throwing in a loop every now and then. From the moment you finish listening to their first song, you know you’ve found something that’ll stick with you.



►BLACK DANIEL- They are brothers Luke and Lamik2000 from London town and Craig Louis Higgins Jnr from New York via Cape Cod. Meeting for the first time in Manhattan through a “friend” on the dancefloor of a lower east side disco, they quickly discovered a mutual love of animal tranquilisers and long walks in the rain. Some would say forming a band seemed like the logical progression, but it took a tour of the states with the brothers masquerading as DJs and C.LH. jnr doing his own special brand of tour management before the inevitable finally happened. Sometimes something just feels right. This wasn’t one of those times but they did it anyway.



►BOW MODS- Propelled by NDW’s twisted, left-field musical proclivities and brought to incandescent life by PCS’s slick performance chops and velvet filthy vocals, the results are Kraftwerk groping Grace Jones via Neil Tennant and Dave Gahan fighting over broken biscuits on a Charles and Di commemorative plate…



►NEON HIGHWIRE- Surrealist geek electro upstarts Neon Highwire are the party destroying sensation that have been named as ones to watch with good reason. They’ve been championed by Tom Robinson of BBC 6Music, had track named track of the year by Sherwood Radio before it was even released and have gained a reputation for their devastating live shows countrywide which have included support slots with Pete & The Pirates, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs & Dragonette to name a few.



►OZONNA- African-born electro popper Ozonna may have chosen an unusual way to market himself, but in today’s hyper competitive music industry it pays to be original. Ozonna himself even admits that the message can be seen as clichéd. But it’s the way that message is delivered on his new single, “I Love Me”, that the London-based artist eliminates any sense of been-here-before. An eclectic mix of influences has inspired the record, which delivers pop-hooks underpinned with genuine musical ideology. Uber-cool outfit We Have Band provide the remix duties on “I Love Me” and production comes courtesy of Greg Fitzgerald (Kylie/ The Saturdays/ Madonna) and Itay Kashti. Think Marina and the Diamonds, Lightspeed Champion and a hint of Gaga, and you begin to get the idea. But Ozonna’s sound is still wholly individual.



►THE MANNAKINGS- Four piece band based in London, includes two sizably diverse brothers (Theo and Troy Sowerbutts), a hairy mod (Will Amherst) and jack from nightmare before christmas (Tristan Smallbones).Think Morrissey meets Bombay Bicycle Club.



►YOU ME AND THE MOON- Beatles and Phill Spector, superb songwriting, certainly ones to watch next year…
