Celtic Connections returns to Platform with a belter!

Cornershop have been making perfect records for 20 years. It was with 1997’s ‘When I Was Born for the 7th Time’ album that they moved from the sidelines to centre stage. Their number one single ‘Brimful Of Asha’ catapulted the band into the mainstream of British music and onto stages of festivals around the world. American tours with the likes of Beck and Oasis followed and as a creative powerhouse they have been pushing musical boundaries ever since.

Always looking forward, Cornershop are true musical pioneers, melding influences from across genres and continents. 2011’s ‘Cornershop & The Double ‘O’ Groove Of’, featuring Bubbley Kaur saw them kick a contemporary western musical tradition head first into Punjabi Folk.
