2011 found Jurado enjoying high hometown praise as Andrew Matson of the Seattle Times dubbed Jurado “Seattle’s folk-boom godfather.
” Jurado was in the studio once again with Swift, collaborating further for a psych tinged full length record, Maraqopa, to be released on February 21st, 2012. While it is Jurado’s tenth full length, the number ‘10’ might just be the least important or interesting detail about the album. Whereas that milemarker could be seen as an apex or a culmination, this record is just the opposite. It is a beginning; a record that is disinterested in where Jurado has been, and fully engaged in where he is going. $15 (not including fees), all ages, Bar with ID.
