Consistently the most vital, creative and influential jazz-fusion band of the 1970s and 80s, Weather Report continues to inspire new listeners and committed fans alike. They combined instantly familiar melodies, global influences and swinging, exhilarating grooves, driven for much of their journey by Peter Erskine’s phenomenal drumming. Their music defined the genre with iconic tunes such as the jazz classic Birdland (see YouTube clip below) and major selling albums including Black Market and Heavy Weather. Now, Peter Erskine will pilot Europe’s leading jazz orchestra, the SNJO, through a selection of classic Weather Report numbers.

6.45pm, Pre-concert Discussion Peter Erskine and Tommy Smith in conversation (free to ticket holders)
