ERRORS

Errors are a 4 piece band from Glasgow, Scotland formed in 2004. Not long after their inception they were taken under the wing of Mogwai who signed them to their Rock Action label alongside the likes of Part Chimp and James Orr Complex. Two critically acclaimed albums and a string of EPs followed which saw Errors tour extensively with bands as varied as Underworld, Franz Ferdinand, Explosions in the Sky, Gary Numan and Mogwai.

Now After a brief but hugely-influential time away Errors return with ‘Have Some Faith In Magic,’ on Rock Action Records; their third album, it counts as far and away their greatest shift in sound yet, heralding in a sound of serenely cosmo-gazing sugar-tipped pop; previously hinted at with Spring single ‘Magna Encarta,’ a further preview is provided with free download ‘Earthscore.’ Errors’ fans have long had their faith rewarded by the band; their third album only looks set to continue that trend.

REMEMBER REMEMBER

Glasgow act Remember Remember, is the latest project of former Multiplies and Royal We member Graeme Ronald. Compared to the likes of Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Animal Collective and even Michel Gondry, they are quickly becoming known for their unique live shows where everything from hand-claps to Irn Bru are sampled, looped and blended into the performance. Their latest album ‘The Quickening’ was released through Mogwai’s label Rock Action Records and has been picking up rave reviews since its release.

VICTORIES AT SEA

Victories At Sea are an experimental 3 piece from the Midlands, citing influences as wide and diverse as Slowdive, Boards of Canada, and M83 through to more unadulterated alternatives such as Echo and The Bunnymen, New Order and mid 80’s Cure. By using various electronics and drum loops live, their traditional set up is enveloped by resonating layers of sound cast against the backdrop of the city at night.

FREE SCHOOL DJS

After releasing their debut EP on Tirk Records (Architeq, Greg Wilson, Idjut Boys), Free School have established themselves as eclectic staples on the Birmingham DJing scene. Resident DJs at Happy Cycling (Bull’s Head), the This Is Tmrw clubnight (various) and Roasts N’ Records (The Victoria), Free School have also DJ’d at the launch of Mark E’s ‘Stonebreaker’ album (Ghostly International), the launch of the Out Of Bounds label as well as playing at gigs by the likes of Neon Indian, iliketrains and Evil Alien. Expect chillwave, pure disco, space disco, electronica and maybe, just maybe…some BOOGIE
