De band van Emanuel bestaat uit een drummer, bassist, toetsenist, fluitist, gitarist, *haalt adem* twee violisten, cellist, trombonist en trompettist. Alleen om de vraag of dit allemaal op het podium in EKKO gaat passen zou je al een kaartje moeten kopen. Emanuel And The Fear bevat leden die eerder samenspeelden met The National, Sufjan Stevens, Akron/Family en The Canadian Brass. Je zou al een beetje kunnen schatten hoe dit collectief op het podium klinkt, maar Time Out New York wil hem best nog even voor je inkoppen hoor: “Brooklyn’s Emanuel and the Fear is an 11-piece ensemble that makes clap-along chamber pop—like a jolly, frivolous Arcade Fire.””
