How ace were The Human League tonight in Sheffield!! They played the whole of the Dare album, and then more, including my favourite Fascination, plus
Tell Me When, Electric Dreams, The Lebanon, and more...
I'm convinced that Phil Oakey is the Richard O'Brien of synthpop :) He was constantly swinging about the stage from left to right like a bald pendulum in a long black coat, and running about in his silver suit. All the instruments and backline were pure white, which went really well with the huge white banners above the stage with their faces on.
My favourite bits had to be pretty much anything featuring Nicky Bee :) (he's so versatile, AND he has great hair!!) and Susan's legs! My god that woman has some pins on her for 44!!
They had a couple of costume changes, and the girls came out for the encore looking even more amazing, Susan in a little black jumpsuit, and Joanne wearing a ringmasters outfit complete with whip!!
