Last seen at The Queen’s Hall opening up for Xavier Rudd, Ben Howard was brought up on all the classic 60s and 70s singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Richie Havens.

He brings freshness to the form, even as his songs have a quality of wisdom and rootsy authenticity while his close-knit band provide gentle, note-perfect harmonies which are capable of bringng a hush to the room.

Now signed to the the pioneering label Island - home of fellow travellers like Nick Drake and John Martyn - Ben Howard has just released his album Every Kingdom.
