Junior Boys
After the brilliant show at XOYO, JUNIOR BOYS play London’s Heaven venue.
Junior Boys return with a new single and album. Banana Ripple will be released on 30th May (in the UK) as the first single from Junior Boys’ forthcoming album, It’s All True (June 20th). The epic 9-minute album closer will be available on 12” (RUG410) and via digital download (RUG410D) and will feature a remix from The Field.
It’s All True began its life in Shanghai, where Jeremy Greenspan made an extended visit to write and begin recording. Traces of Greenspan’s trip can be heard in tracks such as the album opener “Itchy Fingers” whose exotic middle eight features local musicians he recorded during his stay. With much of the album composed and conceived, Greenspan returned to his native Hamilton, Ontario and was joined by Matthew Didemus to record in earnest at the band’s recently constructed studio. The result is It’s All True - Junior Boys’ most accomplished album to date.
SUPPORTING ACTS:
DIAMOND RINGS (http://diamondrings.bandcamp.com/)
SXSW, CMJ and support for Robyn: this is the last year of Diamond Rings.
This eclectic artist from Toronto, has gained worldwide critical praise after the release of “Special Affections” on Secret City Records, defined as the creator of “Dance music for people who feel creepy in crowds” (The Guardian). This man with make up and charming new romantic style will play live in support of Junior Boys, showing the crowd his unique take on grunge meets dancy pop.
