Headlining the bill is none other than Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks.
After reuniting his hugely influential band Pavement last year, resulting in massive sold out shows worldwide Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks return with Mirror Traffic, their most immediate and energised set to date.
Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Beck, Mirror Traffic is an album comprised of fifteen almost-pop songs, and the sound of a band with a spring in their step.
Also headlining proceedings is San Francisco’s ‘Girls’.
As a former member of ‘The Children of God’ Cult, lead singer Christopher Owens was not allowed to listen to music from outside of the cult, but due to being allowed to watch movies he absorbed music like Queen and Guns N’ Roses. The result of this childhood led to an “overflow of expression” on Girls 2009 self titled and critically acclaimed debut album.
Girls are now back with their much anticipated second full length LP ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’ which is out in September. If the rambling brilliant lead single ‘Vomit’ is anything to go by the album should be something very special indeed.

mattcunn There's a 3am bus in manchester if you aren't going too far, failing that, certain trains from piccadilly leave at 1am.

fearofmanc @everybody who has to get the 23:38: what station's that from? 'Cos if it's Piccadilly you can always get the 23:17 to there from Oxford Road (like I did last night when the Public Enemy gig at The Ritz finised at ~23:10).
