Description

“Chicago Songbook is a collection of compositions fuelled by my fascination for early jazz and Tin Pan Alley. I edited the old material and created new compositions by copying and pasting.” Thomas Smetryns has gathered an impressive band of musicians for this project, including Bart Maris, Daan Vandewalle and Jakob Ampe, singer with Belgian rock band The Germans.

The lineup of the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet is kind of like the who’s who of jazz and improv. Its ten members are all talented artists in their own right: Mats Gustafsson, Paal Nilssen Love, Ken Vandermark, Joe McPhee, etc. Frontman Peter Brötzman has just turned 70, but still knows how to play an excellent tune. He is, however, planning to disband the Tentet, so don’t miss this chance to see them live!

What you can expect: a ball of limitless energy, fresh harmonies, great rhythms, powerful horns, eyes twinkling with joy, an inspired performance and an unforgettable night.
