The Arkansas Community Arts Cooperative (ACAC) and Play Your Part (PYP) in collaboration with Friends of the Dreamland Ballroom present:

Experimental bassist (plays an upright with a bow, and a vocal range like Prince!) to perform at multimedia Dreamland Ballroom Fundraiser

Visuals & sounds, treats & eats, puppet show & book distro



Upright bass player and indie celebrity, Nat Baldwin will be performing at the historic Dreamland Ballroom Tuesday, April 19th. The New Hampshire-native is an experimental upright bassist and singer-songwriter who cut his teeth studying with free jazz legend Anthony Braxton. Doors will open at 6pm for an art show featuring Colin Miles, Jake Pruitt, Cloud Map, Erin Lang, and other local artists. Local independent book distro, Tree of knowledge will have a booth of books and zines for browsing. A puppet show musical will begin around 7:30pm and featured music will begin around 8pm. Show ends at 11pm.



LOCATION:

The show will be a chance to see the historic Dreamland Ballroom’s newly refinished floor. The Dreamland Ballroom is the last original building part of the Ninth Street Jazz scene, and has previously hosted legends in its heyday such as Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitz Gerald and Dizzie Gillespie. Ruth Brown, Etta James, Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan and more.

The show is at the Dreamland Ballroom on third floor of the Flag and Banner building, 800 West 9th Street (Corner of State and 9th) in Little Rock. Its all ages and admission is $5.
