WOIMA COLLECTIVE (Niemcy)

Zespół Woima Collective narodził się z kolejnych poszukiwań muzyków tworzących znany dobrze na świecie projekt Poets of Rhythm. Główny impuls, który doprowadził do powstania Woima Collective to inicjatywa saksofonisty Johannesa Schleiermachera, którego zainteresowania muzyczne… są głęboko zanurzone w rytmach i skalach muzyki afrykańskiej. Niezwykle silny wpływ wywarło na Johannesa spotkanie z wielkim Mulatu Astatke, od którego uczył się etiopskich skal muzycznych. Zespół nagrywał w tym samym studio, w którym powstawały utwory Jimi’ego Tenora oraz Afrobeat Academy. Muzyka Woima Collective to połączenie ciężkiego funku w stylu Heliocentrics i Poets of Rythm z abisyńskimi dęciakami i klasycznymi dźwiękami organów w stylu Mulatu. Muzyka Woima Collective to hołd oddany hipnotyzującemu pięknu skal etiopskich, afrykańskich rytmów, ale jednocześnie także nowe brzmienia, które wyrażają indywidualne fascynacje poszczególnych muzyków.

QUANTIC (Kolumbia / Wielka Brytania)

Will Holland aka Quantic czyli jedna z najbardziej wyczekiwanych postaci nie tylko w Polsce, ale też w Europie, jako że po przeprowadzce do Kali w Kolumbii w 2007 roku, w Europie bywa niezwykle rzadko. Quantic to człowiek orkiestra: multiinstrumentalista (gitara, bass, kontrabas, fortepian, perkusja), dj, kompozytor, producent, aranżer, kolekcjoner płyt, digger i wreszcie właściciel własnej wytwórni płytowej Magnetic Fields oraz jedna z czołowych postaci wytwórni Tru Thoughts. Od swojego debiutu w roku 2000, Holland - oprócz zaangażowania w liczne produkcje i projekty - wydał sześć albumów jako Quantic, cztery jako Quantic Soul Orchestra oraz jeden jako połowa Limp Twins. Jego projekty to mieszanka różnych stylów i tradycji muzycznych, to fuzja muzyki elektronicznej, latino, soulu, cumbii, hip-hopu i funku, z domieszką brzmień orientalnych.

DANIEL DRUMZ (Polska)

Dj, digger i producent, wywodzący się z kultury oldshoolowego hiphopu, funku i soulu. Zdobywca tytułu mistrzowskiego na Vestax POPDJ 2003. Od 2004 r. koncertował i nagrywał z warszawskim Grammatikiem. Drumz otwierał imprezy dla takich artystów jak De La Soul (USA), Guru (Gang Starr, USA), Jay-Z (USA), Rahzel (The Roots, USA), The Freestylers (UK), Looptroop (Szwecja), Michał Urbaniak. Nagrywał i odbywał jam sessions z takimi artystami jak Grammatik, Eldo, Leszek Możdżer, Dizkret & The Headnods, O.S.T.R. i innymi. Członek kolektywu muzyczno-djskiego Mako Boko.

WOIMA COLLECTIVE (Germany)

The Woima Collective was born of a subsequent search of musicians forming a well-known project Poets of Rhythm. The main impulse that led to the birth of the Collective is an initiative of Woima saxophonist Johannes Schleiermacher, whose musical interests are deeply immersed in the rhythms of African music and scales. The encounter with the great Mulatu Astatke, from whom he learned the Ethiopian musical scales, had extremely strong influence on his works. The band recorded in the same studio where the songs of Jimi Tenor and Afrobeat Academy were created. Music of Woima Collective is a combination of heavy funk bringing to mind the Heliocentrics and Poets of Rhythm with abyssinian classical sounds of Mulatu organs. Music of Woima Collective is a tribute to the beauty of hypnotic Ethiopian scales and African rhythms, but it’s also a new sound, which express a personal fascinations of the Woima musicians.

QUANTIC (Colombia/Great Britain)

Quantic is an umbrella name for UK-born, Will Holland: acclaimed Producer, Musician and DJ for over 15 years evolving and involving styles like Funk & Jazz to Electronic & Folk music through to Latin, Reggae, Dub & Cumbia. Holland has released over ten full-length albums internationally through the label, Tru Thoughts, across six different projects ranging from his DJ/Producer/Remixer moniker that has packed dance floors from Bulgaria to Buenos Aires, Quantic, to his Latin-tinged, reggae and dub exploration, Flowering Inferno, to a full-out soul band, The Quantic Soul Orchestra.
Based in the musical epicenter of Cali, Colombia since 2007, Holland has been exploring cumbias, salsa and Afro-Colombian music through his particular beat-focused, electronic and funk lens. His latest live band project, Quantic y Su Combo Barbaro, a carefully assembled international cast of musical creators including virtuosic salsa pianist Alfredo Linares and Pacific folklore singer Nidia Gongora, is a bold snapshot of an ever-evolving musical landscape in the Americas. Holland also works and exchanges with a cross-section of artists and producers innovatively shaping contemporary music from Latin America as we speak.

DANIEL DRUMZ (Poland)

Dj, digger and producer, inspired by the culture of oldshool hip-hop, funk and soul. The winner of the Vestax POPDJ 2003 championship. Since 2004 performed and recorded with Warsaw-based group Grammatik. Drumz supported such artists as De La Soul (USA), Guru (Gang Starr, USA), Jay-Z (USA), Rahzel (The Roots, USA), The Freestylers (UK), Looptroop (Sweden) and Michal Urbaniak. Recorded and held jam sessions with artists such as Grammatik, Eldo, Leszek Mozdzer, Dizkret & The Headnods, OSTR and others. A member of Mako Boko collective.
