Mon 9 Apr – P.J. Proby
The second Easter show was great again!
It started again with Johnny Duffy, followed by Jesse Garron, who did a great performance of old rock and rollers.
P.J. was on again at 9.45 and gave us a full hour of his all again! The songs were the same as yesterday, but I think it went even better if possible. Angelica was perfect and so was The Masquerade Is Over.
The jokes in between were somewhat different, so P.J. makes them up as he goes along. The songs went on a roll again, but P.J. demanded a bit of breath after a rocker like Stagger Lee before he would start Maria. Before he started Hold me he tried to confuse the audience about what hit song he would sing and he started singing That’s Alright Little Mamma and something that started “I will keep a close look …”, without backing music.
So everything was perfect and he did it again!

the Walker Brothers song The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore, sung together with Joe Longthorne…
