We were on upper tier right of stage (of the London O2), sound was quite bad, very echoey (I guess they didn't Test for Echo!!!), 2nd half was better, but put quite simply it was far too loud, I had to use ear plugs, with them off the sound distorted my eardrums! Last week at Roger Waters we were upper tier as well and the sound was MUCH better! In fact didn't notice it, could concentrate on the gig. Fab show though, wouldn't miss Rush!

@ aledlifebuoy I was sitting to the right of the sound desk, in the raised seats but closer to the floor area - I also thought that the second half was better sound wise (although not having a problem with the sound in first half)... Maybe it was the location & the tweaking ?

@ viridismens Where were you sitting? We were at the back, in the raised seats but not in the balcony. For the second half we moved to behind the sound desk - the sound was better (but still not great) but whether that was after "tweaking" or just a better location I don't know?

No problems with sound where I was sitting, absolutely brilliant gig!! And that was one hell of a drum solo... amazing.

I have to agree with the last comment - from where I was sitting the sound was an absolute nightmare, so much so that it actually made me feel ill. The worst thing was that the soundman blamed "the laws of physics" and "the venue" (I've never been to a gig with sound anywhere near this bad, and I've been to quite a few gigs in my time) and made no attempt to adjust anything as far as those of us protesting could tell - we ended up moving seats to where the booming bass that completely wiped out the intricacies of the playing was slightly less prevalent, but where we couldn't then see the band so well. I love Rush, and I've loved their previous gigs (even at the Wembley Arena where sound was supposedly poor) but last night was totally ruined for me - currently following up a complaint with the Rush in-house sound production team by emailing victoria@kennedystreet.com and asking her to pass on my complaint (as neither the O2 nor Kennedy Street says it is their problem).

I wish I could be more positive about this gig, I'm sure the guys played their butts off...but I couldn't hear anything above the massive standing waves created by Neil's kick drum and the low end of the synths. When Geddy's voice dropped into the lower registers he was inaudible, ditto Alex when was playing at the bottom of the neck. At halftime there were about 20 people clustered around the sound desk telling them that the sound sucked, and getting the answer that it was a "room problem"...b*ll*ks, all they had to do was roll off some of the bottom end (and notch down Neil's kick). I've complained to both the O2 (although it's not strictly their problem) and Rush's management, as frankly this is one of the worse gigs (for sound) I have ever been too (oh, and re the "room"...I saw Roger Waters perform the Wall at the O2 exactly a week before...and it was like listening to the CD... Best gig I have ever been too. Had no problems with sound where I was sat. Got more energy than most bands these days! Will never forget that night.
