Two of the headline acts on the Coaster Festival lineup will tour Australia’s capital cities in September as Birds Of Tokyo hit the road accompanied by LA’s irresistible indie-rock prodigies Silversun Pickups.

The most recent tour from Ian Kenny and his Birds of Tokyo crew was acclaimed as “A truly beautiful, simply awesome performance from a band who deserve every award and accolade they earn” and with the additional lure of Silversun Pickups this is sure to be a must see tour.

Birds of Tokyo recently told FasterLouder that the new self titled album is “going to lose a few of the rocky fans” but the band is “really proud to stand by the album, which is probably the culmination of nearly seven years as a band. It’s kind of the first one we feel like stamping and say this is us.”

Festival Hall is such a fucking shit venue. I was front row but moved because the sound was so fucked, with way too loud bass. It sounded much better standing way back, but then I hated it because of the amount of people and couldn't see shit. Front row is where I love it... Sigh.

LeroyP, exactly what I thought, pretty disappointing as I was there especially to see Silversun Pickups Festival Hall is one of the worst sounding venues

was a good night. i just couldnt help be disappointed that a similar effort with the lights and sound didnt go to Silversun. I know they were support and stuff, but theyre opener was going to be amazing and it just kinda fell flat. i could barely hear the drums, but when BoT came on, sound-wise everything was so much clearer and louder. really enjoyed the crowd too. everyone was friendly, which is a nice change

Fantastic show. Better than I expected tbh. Loved the slightly stripped back versions of the 'Day One' tracks. The 'Silhouettic' sing-along was awesome.

Last night was amazing - performance and production! It was great to finally see Birds of Tokyo live! It felt like the wind got knocked out of me when 'In The Veins of Death Valley' started, it was awesome! ...Thought I'd share a pic: http://somanyfrequencies.tumblr.com/post/1224502500/ And mustgetoutx, I saw that security guard doing that! What an asshole!

Incredible show, great atmosphere, ace setlist. Had the best afternoon and night. But screw the security guard that pocketed the plectrums that Anthony was flicking to me instead of handing them to me. Oh well, managed to get his setlist instead.

To the guy who kept yelling out "I love you Kenny!" every 30 seconds until Kenny gave you a reaction, you were the only problem in an otherwise perfect night.
