Ictus and Steve Reich
Drumming is a seminal work in the oeuvre of Steve Reich and of minimalist music as a whole. A classic example of Reich’s famous “phasing” technique, it was written after a study trip through Ghana. Who better than the musicians of Ictus, who have long been enthusiastic advocates of the avant-garde and of innovation, to perform this modern classic?
