Catherine AD

Catherine A.D. is the work of British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Catherine Anne Davies. She sings songs that contain simmerings of murderous gloom and honeyed drops of sensual darkness. Catherine has been recording with Bernard Butler, stirring pop hooks, snarls of guitar, glimmers of keyboard and serrated vocal somersaults into her cauldron of midnight piano and treacly growling.

“Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful… genius in fact!” Ro Da Bank
“A phenomenal talent!” - Huw Stephens

Jenny McCormick

The Mancunian folk singer’s mixture of traditional song and her own compositions draws on her love of story-telling, traditional English music and poetry. Together with an eclectic mix of influences, there is a definite country/ folk twang and Jenny is a performer who seems able to move between the traditional folk clubs and the new folk and acoustic scene with an ease that few of her peers have managed, getting the thumbs up from Steve Lamacq and receiving Radio 2 airplay.

Dear Winesburg

Dear Winesburg are a hotly tipped folk 4-piece, pairing the deft fingerstyle playing of singer-songwriter Chris Kreinczes with the voice and violin of Emma Kraemer (Peggy Sue, Mariner’s Children) backed in rabble-rousing style on double bass, accordion and drums. Evoking contemporaries Noah and The Whale and Mumford & Sons but with with a lyrical intensity that harks back to the protest singers of the 60s and the roots of the folk tradition, with songwriting echoes of Greenwich Village-era Dylan and the Lake Poets. Produced by Mike Pela (Stephen Stills, Fairport Convention) their acclaimed debut record ‘Dark Water’ was released earlier this year.
