Anchorsong

“Anchorsong is a music producer and solo live act. Started his career in Tokyo in 2004 and based in London now.

He has become globally recognized for his unique live performance, creating electronic music live with a sampler (MPC2500) and a keyboard right in front of the audience, “on the fly”. Some people say, “It’s like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas.” It has grown into an international phenomenon through YouTube, and those videos have been viewed more than 150,000 times so far.

He relocated to Europe in late 2007. Since then, he has been supporting many established artists like DJ Krush, Hexstatic, Jaga Jazzist, DJ Kentaro and so on. Although generally a solo performer, he’s made many collaborations including the highly acclaimed one with string quartet at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in Oct 2009.

He appeared on BBC Introducing on Radio 1 several times after having performed at SxSW 2009. He’s been invited to do the session at legendary BBC Maida Vale studio in early 2010. He’s undoubtedly one of the most expected upcoming artists in UK at the moment.”
