Jeff Golub - Hot Jazz & Cool Blues for You Concert

“The City of Casselberry and WLOQ Smooth 103.1 will again be jazzin’ it up on Saturday, February 27 during the Jeff Golub - Hot Jazz & Cool Blues for You Concert. This FREE event will be held from 6 - 9 p.m. at the beautiful Lake Concord Park. Located behind Casselberry City Hall, this lakefront park will provide the perfect backdrop for a spectacular evening where everyone can bring plenty of friends, family, blankets and chairs and enjoy an incredible evening of high energy jazz and blues performed by Jeff Golub.

Jeff Golub (www.jeffgolub.com) is well recognized throughout the world for his strong guitar influence. In August, 2009, Golub released his 8th solo album, Blues for You. He is known primarily as a smooth jazz guitarist, but stretches out his blues chops on this album - the blues being an early influence in his musical background. Golub said that he cherishes all things funky and has combined several genres of music with the thought that people in his generation grew up with such diverse music, that he felt very comfortable combining it all together. “It’s all music and it’s really the reason for music in the first place is to express a language and to express the feeling that you have that goes beyond words”, states Golub in a recent interview.

Even though Jeff Golub is a world-class musician who is constantly on tour, he also likes being in touch with his fans and has been known to personally answer all his emails. “Anybody who wants to write to website@jeffgolub.com, I do read and answer every email myself. I decided if somebody is going to take the time to say hello I can take the time to say hello back. It might take a few days but it does get to me and I do answer everything.”

Opening this phenomenal jazz night will be Mike MacArthur (www.mikemacarthur.com) he will delight the crowd playing his tenor sax. Mike is a monstrous player! He’s very spontaneous, especially on bop tunes reminiscent of the parker era and after – these are the words Diane Schuur used to describe her experience when they performed together. After opening for Jeff, Mike will continue to play with Mr. Golub during the night.
