The famed Estonian classical composer, Arvo Pärt, has created a special composition for the city of Istanbul, titled Adam’s Lament which will be performed at the Aya İrini Museum on June 7, 2010. Since the late 1970’s, Pärt has been working in a minimalist style that employs a self-made compositional technique called tintinnabuli. His music also finds its inspiration and influence from the Gregorian chants.
