When Sunny Day Real Estate collapsed in early 1995, few would have predicted the impact the Seattle band’s music would still be having over a decade later. Now, more than 15 years later the band’s original lineup is reuniting to deliver its emotionally charged epics for live audiences once again.

It’s no secret that it’s Motion City Soundtrack’s inconsolably simplistic wit and brilliant live shows that has made them cult heroes. With their bubbly brand of colourful pop punk, Motion City Soundtrack will be bringing their trademark blend of bittersweet melodies and buoyantly catchy tunes to this amazing quadruple bill.

Glassjaw’s influence has been staggering, the loyalty towards them astounding and the number of careers owed to them, unfathomable. Although hard to imagine, Glassjaw’s live shows are even more intense than their records; don’t miss this rare chance to witness the undisputed legends of post-hardcore in the flesh.

RX Bandits are fearless. In a nervous era of record label focus groups, marketing strategies, and narrowly defined micro genres, it seems that the idea of the Transcendently Great Rock & Roll Band has been lost. Fortunately for us all, Southern California’s RX Bandits have emerged as a tidal wave, a force that shatters all the boundaries set against them. This concept has been the catalyst for the band’s ever-growing fan base, which revels in their uniqueness and continues to storm their celebrated, incendiary live shows.

On the back of their performances at Soundwave 2010 the dream line-up of Sunny Day Real Estate, Motion City Soundtrack, Glassjaw and RX Bandits will be performing 2 club shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

i second my notion that glassjaw were crap

@jolie-nicole The guys at the sound booth were having some technical trouble during Rx Bandits. It's not like they were fucked over on purpose. And yes, as SeanceMascara point out, SDRE were booked to headline before Glassjaw took that slot. I hope both bands return.

@jolie-nicole SDRE were originally meant to headline the show. Then glassjaw got put ahead of them. Then when JEW got added SDRE went back to being above Glassjaw.

@shrodes, i didnt even knwo glassjaw, i went to that gig to see motion and SDRE. but who ever scores the headline should rightfully get to keep it.... imagine if SDRE were headling it to start with and some shiut band took over? that would not be fun.. and all bands deserve to have decent light/sound production... headline or not!

I thought JEW were amazing. I'm a bit biased as they are my 2nd favourite band. Sunny Day Real Estate were solid, great to see them live. I thought Glassjaw were fantastic, i didn't know anything of their stuff, but they convinced me to even see them again at SW. Motion City were so much better than '08, loved 'em. RX Bandits didn't really do anything for me.

Did they deserve to be headlining over Sunny Day in the first place? Absolutely not.

i thought the lighting and sound production for every other band except JEW was terrible, it made every other band look like shit compared to JEW. (not that JEW arent fantastic anyway! but still!) did anyone else notice this? it was although the other bands didnt even have soundchecks! i felt so sorry for Rx Bandits. You dont go overseas to a country and play in their musical capital and not get the decency to have vocals on your songs. all the bands played awesomly aside from this though... and to everyone that didnt like glassjaw - IT WAS THEIR HEADLINE SHOW before JEW took over. so dont whinge.

Sunny Day Real Estate owned the night imo. Motion City Soundtrack were much better than when I saw them in 2008, Rx Bandits were fun, Glassjaw put on a good show and JEW were great as expected.
