_likepapercuts i loved the opening, violins before breaking into umbrella beach proper. gutted it was mostly just the new album, i wanted captains & cruiseships so bad...didn't like how it died when he played any that hadn't been singles, argh.

karahhh___k9 The set list is wrong lol they played umbrella beach, the bird and the worm, the tip of the iceberg, on the wing, swimming in miami, fireflies, meteor shower, the technicolor phase, the saltwater room, dental care, hot air balloon, cave in and vanilla twilight and the encore was hello seattle. :) Met Maurie and Adam from Lights' touring band last night and was just watching them load the van and then Lights came out and we were 2 of the lucky people to catch her before her tour manager started shooing people away! :D I'm so beyond pleased she was able to play last night because we'd travelled so far and she was amazing, I always watch her youtube channel so it was awesome that she played some acoustic stuff! :D owl city was amazing too, looooved the string instruments! ^_^

Sorry for the comparison but when Hayley Williams lost her voice she played anyway and she got the fans to help her out, it worked really well and raised her confidence. It'd be cool if Lights just performed anyway but obviously as long as it wouldn't damage her voice. :/

andy_tsl I'd recommend you stay for Owl City's set, he may surprise you. :) and I can't wait for this now, getting the coach at like 11am on Monday. Anyone know how far away the venue is from Manchester Central Travelodge? It doesn't look too far on Google Maps but I have no idea. Bought tickets for Owl City in Glasgow on May 8th the other day as well so hoping he's as good as I expect him to be on Monday. :L Lights is also rumoured to be touring the UK in May so maybe she'll support him again lol. Eek can't wait!!!! :D :D <3

@andy_tsl Lights is amazing, sure, but why leave when you're paying for a headlining ticket to see Owl City? You may as well stick around since you're going anyway; he's much, much better than just Fireflies.

My hometown is near Stafford and it isn't anywhere near Birmingham! It's a good half-hour on the train from Stafford-Birmingham, I used to do it all the time. Try eBay for tickets though, obv going to be more expensive but maybe still cheaper than a tout on the night.

Danny23 yeah lol, it sucks cos i live in manc usually but im @ uni in stafford which is near bham, so i left it cos i didnt know where id be on this weekend, and i sillyly left it until fireflies went number 1, like usually i could of left this till like a few weeks before, but now ive massively missed out, cos its only gonna be touts left now :(

@karahhh tour dates are on Lights' myspace, after looking it looks as though she's only doing Leeds and Cardiff other than the Owl City tour.

Everyone should see Lights open for Futures, the venues are way smaller than for Owl City.

@karahhh I'm the same, Ocean Eyes was my favourite album last year, I played it out all summer. It'll still be good, but definitely not the same given the venue size now. @Joyful_Blue Lights is touring with another band as well - she's opening for Futures. Check out some of their tour dates and see if you can get to any of those, they're small venues and I'm looking forward to Lights more than Owl City.

@beautifullycomplete yeah I'm one of those people :/ it'll still be good though I've wanted to see Owl City for like a year now, hence why I'm travelling down from Glasgow. xD @Joyful_Blue you should check Owl City out if you haven't already, he's actually really good. :)

Lights is amaaaazing, I saw her at Give It A Name twice last year and I was lucky enough to meet her and one of her tour members, they were ridiculously nice. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GIGGGG!!!! :D :D :D
