The Sheer wordt in 2000 opgericht door vier vrienden uit Haarlem. De groep laat zich inspireren door Britse pop en rock uit de jaren zestig en de Britpoprevival van begin jaren negentig. Dat levert een catchy combinatie op van melodieuze pop/rock met een Britse inslag.
