it was I that called them sunn zero bracketbracketbracket. i thought it had way more of a ring to it than just "sunn"

That guy who left the comment at the bottom who claims that Lightning bolt's "audience seems to consist of a majority of cunts these days" needs to get a life. Just because you move around and have fun at a gig doesn't mean you can't enjoy the music. I wish people had moved around for more of the bands. Also I'm sure he was the guy who complained about me shouting too loudly. He kinda pissed me off to be honest, I was just trying to have fun. Apart from that it was amazing though.

Another highlight from me was spotting Mike Vennart from Oceansize walking around centre stage during Múm! That was cool, but I was too scared to say hi.

Couple of questions. Whats the title of the Afrirampo song about stars fading out that she was adorably trying to describe. Also, shellac played 2 new songs, no? What were they?

@jrisgod: That was my third time seeing Lightning Bolt but it seems to me that the reason they have to play on a stage now is because a lot of people turn up to act like dicks at the show because of the bands reputation. The first time I saw them a few years ago there were people dancing and pushing but it was fine, the same goes for the second time when I saw them play on the floor of the venue. At this show there seemed to be a load of metalhead retards moshing and loads of people crowdsurfing over and over again and getting repeatedly kicked in the head by some sweaty teenager gets old very quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people having a good time at a show but I think LB fans are gradually becoming stupider as can be seen by looking at their shoutbox on here. Great weekend nonetheless and LB were still awesome.

Unbelievable weekend, my first ATP and I will be sure to go back as soon as I can. Main highlights for me were Lightning Bolt, The Mars Volta, Battles, Deerhoof, Sunn O)))'s first set, Dirty Three.

@destroy_music: Yeah, somebody really wanted one of those t-shirts that they pushed me in the back and yanked it at hard as they could. Fucking douche. Elbowed a girl too. @BUTTNAKEDWONDA: You're right - some people are pricks. Before I went to ATP I was afraid of its rep of being a closed-circle muso festival, but I've since been back every year and had a wonderful time. The organisers really made a concerted effort to make it better for everybody every year and this one was no exception. Hopefully next time will reaffirm your faith for you! Don't let dicks ruin your day! (BTW, as much as I "grew out of Leeds" when I was a teenager, this year's line-up was the mad notes...)

Highlights, shellac twice, melvins, mudhoney, Om, lightning bolt, breeders. Lowlights, sleepy sun, Steve Malkmus (as he was in a filthy mood, and played obsure songs which are either new or covers.) Gotta also say that its a bit of annoying of atp to give nearly all the bands signed to their label ( the drones, sleepy sun etc) plum times during the weekend. Apart from that had a blast and cant wait till the groening atp. Also a big shout out for splashworld, which was once again great with a hangover. The space bowl and neptune ride were a lot faster this time!

Sunn 0))) were the highlight for me, as were Melvins, porn, Shellac and mum. Stephen O'Malley's pick hit me in the face, and some fucker stole a Melvins shirt from me in mid flight, dislocating my finger :(

It was my first ATP and although i was with a friend who has identical taste in music and a couple who just came because it was my 21st everyone seemed to enjoy it. I'll probably go again but the only thing i have to say is that i felt a little hostility towards my friends and even myself, seemingly telling people you're there for modest mouse isn't good enough and some guy in the smoking area near the irish bar actually went on to dissect, in some detail, one of my favourite bands and also had something to say about my Leeds festival wristbands. If that was you, then you're a prick. All in all i did have a well good birthday and Modest Mouse were my highlight. Edan's 'The Dee Jay' set was also great although the majority of that Friday night is now a blurrr.

"The best bit was after the first 45 minutes or so when Attila came out with his laser gloves and crystal skull" oh shit, i can't believe i missed that! we only caught about 30 mins of the second sunn set, the first one was astonishing though, definitely a highlight. also lightning bolt, shellac, melvins. kind of regret missing afrirampo now seeing all this positive feedback, really wanted to watch om though (they were great too!). awesome festival, thanks to everyone involved in making it happen :)

Glad Lightning Bolt got people jumping around, and it was a bit mental with Afrirampo (band of the weekend?) crowd surfing .... whilst everyone else was in bed. Loved the spontaneous turning of the mushroom into a giant drum after too. Battles wern't as good I remember as last time I saw them. Dirty Three were great. Shellac's banter was on an equal also...had to come home and dig out End Of Radio, a band which I'd shockingly passed by for a long time. Explosions were pretty damn awesome too. Ahh awesome weekend....hope everyone had fun :)
