Daylight Music - Evening Sessions: - a cosy Sunday night in the Union Chapel Bar.
Experience Daylight as never before as we take the music and ethos of the Daylight Music platform and extend it into the Sunday Evening.
Better than the Antiques Roadshow and with a varied selection of fantastic live music; this is your chance to share a familial end of the weekend pint, read the papers or just relax in the cosy environs of the Union Chapel bar.
Featuring a showcase of bands and artists on the much praised Birmingham based Static Caravan label.
Live music from Dollboy, Serafina Steer & Wrangler
and DJ sets from Phelan Sheppard and Lenny George
On Dollboy and his new album - A Beard of Bees:
A Beard of Bees is Oliver’s first song based album, his previous releases, Plans for a modern city (2004, Different Drummer) and Casual Nudism (2006, Arable) being instrumental records on which he created lullaby-like structures, blending together old-fashioned folk melodies and warm electronic soundscapes, with Philip Glass-style loops interspersed with scattering beats.
Live Dollboy's expanded band is to include the dependable Stan aka Alan Day, Owen Hills of Wooden Spoon, purveyor of beguiling ambient-folk, psychedelic noodles, Dave Bebber the bongo artist, Anne Garner (who’s worked with everyone) and her Kes styled flute improvisings and Martin Smith of right-angled organic modernists, Tunng on clarinet and hard and soft objects.
