You're more than close, then I should suck you in
The faith laughs at me so I await for you hopelessly
Wasting the morning, wasting the after noon
I'm just your slow death.

  • I agree - The Go-Betweens lost child
  • Can't believe this is actually an issue, but; this is one of their finest moments. Progression and development is the opposite of death and decay. Love the harmonica, love the vocal melody and I love the lyrics ("Don't come over unless you wanna feel something" = brilliant line)
  • cool...
  • Back to the sound of the 80s, but I love it.
  • colton56 has this one right
  • i like it!
  • the schmaltz of the harmonica places this in the same sweet spot of the wake's "world of her own" or "native land" by everything but the girl and "slow emotion replay" by the the. johnny marr played harmonica on the latter two. i think it's what makes this track special, whereas with done-to-near-death synths would keep it from standing out quite as much.
  • Actually, I'm kind of warming up to this. Still can't really get past the harmonica, but the melody's actually pretty nice.
  • Sounds like Moose... and Go-betweens indeed...
  • Not really digging the harmonica; it makes it sound really cheesy. Something like synths would have complimented the song better. Also, I'm not so sure about the new direction. They were really good at the whole hazy dream pop thing, but this attempt at twee... not so much.
