  • Can't believe I've slept on this music for so long!
  • Weldon was a great guy. I released the 'Best of Weldon Irvine Jr. (Vol 1) in 1996-7, taking numerous tracks from his Nodlew and RCA recordings. We used to talk about a lot of different things besides music e.g. literature, martial arts, current affairs, etc. An articulate and talented man. I have the DAT somewhere for all his previously unreleased recordings from 1966-78. Tunes such as 'The Vamp', 'Mohammed Ali', etc. Was going to be the follow-up after the first release. Designed the sleeve, etc and it was already to go, but i decided to go back to education in the form of Medical School. One day i will release it, as it's an essential historical record of Weldon's work. There are some good grooves in there too. Weldon is sadly missed, but never forgotten! RIP brother!
