  • Great album! [2] Although it's not really my favorite; but still, I think it's a fantastic, fierce album.
  • How could anyone hate this? Easily one of their best, certainly better than Game Theory.
  • what a brilliant album. dark, electric and hooky. one of their best.
  • Such a contrast between this and How I Got Over. HIGO is smooth neo-soul, but this is just so angry and raw!
  • Don't understand the hate for this album. It's just as amazing as everything else The Roots have ever done.
  • Great album!
  • It's terrific.
  • this album pisses me off. i almost hate it i think and i love the roots.
  • Great album!
  • one of the best hip hop albums of these two last years...
  • mos' verse is probably my favorite on the album
  • i think i like this out of everything
  • fuck yeah. it's grrrreat.
  • i love most of the guest verses, porns on i cant help it is my favourite of the album but it does just feels like something is missing with less black thought. putting common on what was already the most boring song on the album didn't help imo. the choruses drag this album down i think. unwritten should definitely have been a full song, probably the best chorus on the album.
  • too many guest rappers on this album. I mean they've basically always brought in some great people but it seems like they relied too heavily on them this go-around. The first track after the intro starts with Mos Def for example. I was all hyped when I popped in the new CD and wanted to hear Black Thought after the two year wait! Mos Def is fine but I think I'd put Black's verses high above everything else on the album. And that's a big reason why I listen to The Roots - he's fantastic. Choruses get a little stale and repetitive at times. Album isn't as tight as Game Theory. I disagree with The Birthday Girl hate. It's catchy as hell. My favorite track on this is definitely the title track. I don't know how I would rank this album but it isn't their best. I've been listening to a lot of Do You Want More??!! and Phrenology and it definitely can't hang with those. I will agree that new Roots is better than just about everything else out there, especially in 2008
  • This album is damn good. I don't understand the hate.
  • pamento, the albums cool. not the best in their disco, but better then most this year. top 3. i like the electric, sound on this cd. "the show" with commons just redic.
  • lol @ the comment about this album being "godly". This album is boring and full of horrible choruses and shitty guest rappers. The roots are overdue for a good album because they haven't made one in a looong time. "Hidden Track" >>> every other track on this album
  • I Can't Help It is my favorite track off this album. But I loved each track.
  • holladrio!
  • my track 16 is called Bonus Track, is it meant to be called Pow Wow 2? Also the songs i have all have feat. whatever in brackets after the tracks, is that alright?
  • luvin it
  • 3.5/5
  • Birthday Girl is included in the Aussie version :)
  • After 75 Bars, the production goes to shit.
  • Rising up is straight up ti-ti-tight!
  • birthday girl is not included on album
  • How come I didn't get Birthday Girl on my copy from MusicToday??? Lame. Amazing album though! ROOTS CREW FOR LIFE!
  • realrealreal dope! love birthday girl
  • fix the tags man!
  • classic
  • it's the legendary! nuff said.
