  • I agree, this would hold it's own without the music, as a short story. I don't think it's depressing at all, I really like the idea of moving about within the confines of a photograph, a frozen instant of time, for just a while. It really captures the confusion and that peculiar sort of heartwarming sadness that nostalgia and melancholy can bring.
  • This is easily my favorite Clientele track, if not one of my favorite songs of all time. It's like a perfect short story set to beautiful music.
  • Like 'A Century of Elvis' or 'A Space Boy Dream" by Belle and Sebastian.
  • Tindersticks have some really good spoken word tracks.
  • Such an amazing track. I really wish there were more monologues set to music like this. Anyone have any suggestions? The only other one I can think of is Woozy With Cider by James Yorkston.
  • Kinda depressing
  • I wish they had more songs like this. So beautiful.
  • 'A Century of Elvis' by Belle and Sebastian?
  • This is one of the most important songs in connecting art to my life. It makes sadness easier to sit with, almost ok.
