I want a love that's right, right is only half of what's wrong
I want a short-haired girl who sometimes wears it twice as long
Now I'm stepping out this old brown shoe, baby, I'm in love with you
I'm so glad you came here it won't be the same now, I'm telling you

• Creem: You also told me you played bass on "Old Brown Shoe." George: It’s like a lunatic playing. Creem: It sounds like McCartney was going nuts again. George: That was me going nuts. I’m doing exactly what I do on the guitar.
• This was during the Abbey Road sessions.
• George Harrison – vocal, guitars, organ, bass guitar Paul McCartney – backing vocal, tack piano John Lennon – backing vocal Ringo Starr – drums Personnel per Ian MacDonald......George plays a lot of bass on Abbey Road, look at the tracks and you'll see. It's well documented, John was in the hospital at one point from a bicycle accident, and Paul playing Piano meant George played bass for the initial tracking of some songs.
• Love this song.
• I'm tell 'in you!
• Hmmm... 6 scrobbles? Must be something happened with my scrobbling back in the 80's...
• I've been listening to The Beatles for two thirds of my life, and they still amaze me every time. Take this song, for example. I mean, fuck me, this is massively awesome, right? And yet it's a (relatively) obscure b-side! And George was TWENTY-SIX when he wrote it! Blows my fucking mind!
• George playing bass? Interesting. Never heard of that before, and since it's played so beautifully, it's hard to imagine it isn't Paul's fluid playing. Wiki says there's "controversy over whether Harrison played bass". Perhaps George thinks McCartney simply followed his lead playing, in which case, perhaps they both played 'bass'? Anyway, great track.
• @DavidSmith98: Why do you attribute the bass to George? According to 'Revolution in the Head' (a pretty reliable document of the Beatles' output), Paul is on bass...as he usually is.
• the bass is george, not paul...nice bass george!
