Toronto acquitted itself a lot better than usual last night. It was a warm, beautiful evening and the people were chatty and seemingly open to random, entertaining things... a couple of them even did more than a perfunctory shuffle-dance once the music had built up some steam. Sure, there was still some asshat puking out of the door of a rented limo while club kids in expensive suits looked on and texted towards the end of the night, but as long as this jelly-bean high lasts, I'm going to pretend that the city managed to get over its legendary stoniness and have a good time for a change.
The bands definitely helped in that regard. Local openers Catl
were new to me, but a really welcome surprise: all of the hard-charging country rawk of the Blues Explosion
