1 Ago 2008, 19:17 de Milkshake8Defending Psystar will be Carr & Ferrell, a law firm that specializes in tech industry issues such as copyright and intellectual property law.
If Apple thought it could force tiny Mac cloner Psystar, which operates out of a warehouse in a generic, Miami industrial park, to fold its tent by hitting it with a ten-count, 30-page copyright lawsuit, it thought wrong.
Court records show that Psystar has retained for its defense a high-profile, Silicon Valley law firm that has previously tangled with Apple -- and won. It's a sign that Psystar, despite its miniscule size, intends to see to its conclusion a case that could have a profound impact on the personal computer industry.
Defending Psystar in the case will be attorneys from Palo Alto-based Carr & Ferrell, which employs more than two dozen lawyers specializing in tech industry issues such as copyright and intellectual property law. …

part of the audience at Raw Talent's Unsinged Stage at Leeds Festival this year
As of last week, BBC Radio Leeds stopped broadcasting what had been BBC North's participation in new music across the region. Alan Raw the presenter and Katie Noone the producer had set up and have been running the two hour programme in the Radio Hull studio and hundreds of artists have been featured in its five year life. Most weeks there is a live band session of (usually) three songs and often an acoustic artist as well. Demos and lots of full releases are played too. A new music stage at Leeds Festival for the last three years and a link with BBC Radio One's Introducing network have been two of its major achievements so far.
Since BBC Radio Leeds' recent decision Raw Talent has been cut back to being a local station serving Humberside and Lincolnshire - accessible to the world via a low quality realaudio stream, but otherwise hidden under a very big bushel. …

4 Jul 2007, 11:18 de Shishkaboom1. What are you listening to right now?
'Knights', by Minus the Bear, on the new album Planet of Ice.
2. What song makes you sad?
'Ten' by Jimmy Eat World gets me every time.
3. What is the most annoying song in the world?
I could give you a huge huge list for that. Anything by Fergie, NSync, Britney Spears, PARIS HILTON, P. Diddy, etc etc. "This Is Why I'm Hot." "Macarena." "Ima Buy you A DRAAANK." Urg. Listening to that kind of music makes me stabby.
4. Your all-time favourite band?
Errrr. That's a three way tie. I know, I know, it's a cop-out of the question, but I just can't bring myself to choose between them. That's like saying "Who's your favorite child?" But anyway, I'm gonna have to go with either Circa Survive, The Stills, or Minus the Bear.
5. Your newly discovered band is?
Sigur Ros. They're Icelandic, I guess/think? They make mostly instrumental music, their genre is Post-Rock, their songs are quite long, and sometimes they sing in an invented language. …
