I agree that Randy was the best "team mate" for Oz, but Jake E. Lee destroyed the US festival with Randy's songs, Zakk went note for note on the first tour and if you get your hands on the Brad Gillis live gigs when he filled in on the Diary tour Ozzy picked some pretty good fill ins. Too bad Gary Moore turned down his request to replace Randy. That would have been amazing.
Yeah gdc i don't think Ozzy ever found that bond, connection, magic, etc. again like he had with Randy but i do think he came close with Zakk.I think the albums No More Tears and Ozzmosis were really good and those were Zakk's best work.
"ozzy never ever found another guitarist who even came close" ???????? C'mon Mike. Are you kidding me. Randy was awesome, but have you heard the crap he put out with Quiet Riot? Zakk must have 30 albums and they ALL rip. Plus he sings like a MoFo. Jake was a child prodigy (piano), but a giant A-hole too. That being said - Diary, Blizzard and Tribute are Ozzy's best.
i've scrobbled this track more than any other tune here and frankly i never get tired of it.from the first time i heard this on cassette in the 80's its been one of my all time favorites.ozzy and randy rhoads were a potent combo and the ozz never was able to eclipse his first two albums with randy because both were hard rock masterpieces.when randy passed on ozzy never ever found another guitarist who even came close.
I don`t Know about all the personal stuff that goes on with any musicians life ..AND I don`t want to . That is for them to live ,not the Obsessed fans .
How would they(The Fans) like it if everybody had to voice thier opinion on every single thing they did ?
All I care about is the music . Do I like it ? HELL YEAH I like it ! That is what matters to me . If I didn`t I wouldn`t give a flyin` F#$% about the group. Let alone thier personal lives .
Even assuming nobody else was involved in stepping in to sort Ozzy out (which I doubt), S****n is f***ing up Ozzy's career to all hell right now. That stupid reality show left entirely the wrong impression. And when Bruce Dickinson had the sense to point it out, she committed an unforgivable insult for which a large contingent of metalheads with very long memories will seek vengeance on her for all time. The ironic thing is that she's realised it was a mistake now, because Ozzfest has been so deserted since that they couldn't give away tickets to it, hence the attempt to bring out books, films etc. that focus more on Ozzy's career as a rocker, but she's too much of a coward to apologise. And the lawsuit over the name of Black Sabbath is a disgrace. If any one member of Black Sabbath "is" Black Sabbath, it's Iommi. You can't kill rock 'n' roll, but I am very glad S****n is mortal, and hope the proof of that fact arrives sooner rather than later.
You're deluded. If it wasn't for Sharon, Ozzy would be in the grave, or still pissing himself in a hotel room, crying about being fired from Black Sabbath. How many groupies do you think Ozzy fucked, anyway?
It reminds me of Ace Frehley's Fractured Mirror ... and Maiden's prodigal son during the intro. Good call on the overdubbing .... it sucks ... you can't kill rock and roll but Sharon sure as hell tried.
You can kill rock and roll by being so pathetic as to erase the original drums and bass and replace them with shoddy overdubs 20 years after the fact, for some petty ridiculous reason. Fortunately I listen to the real versions.
