  • "Tiger Rag" was to 1918 what "Rock Around The Clock" was to 1955...
  • LSU............geaux tigers!
  • It's good older Dixie but I like more modern stuff like Blue Stree Jazz Band with Dave Ruffner on trombone!
  • love it...
  • Does it get much better? I think not.
  • Louis, They should play at around 78...Library of Congress uses Simon Yorke Decks that go from 0 rpm to about 100 rpm. There are some more affordable decks out there that play at 78...... and of course the classics like Garrard 301 and 401 and Thorens TD124...and cartridges for mono and styluses for 78s! Good luck!
  • Don't just wish we could have had a recording of Buddy Bolden?
  • The original jazz stars as far as the wider world knew. Actually, not bad. I actually inherited three or four of their original (shellac?) records which I have stashed away. I think I would need a record player capable of playing at something like 16 revs per minute to get sound out of them. Nice to have links back to the birth of recorded jazz.
