One of his very best. In fact, with a little bit of editing, it could probably take the top spot. Unfortunately "God is in the House" is one of my least favorite songs Nick has ever written, and it seems to go on forever. A couple of the other songs are just a bit overlong as well, but there are so many top-notch tracks here: "As I Sat Sadly by Her Side," "Hallelujah" (haunting as hell), "Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow" (among my top 5-10 Cave songs), "The Sorrowful Wife" (that explosion of fury at the end is just a masterpiece of release following the slow burn that leads up to it)... just great stuff.

I agree, although I love "God is in the House". It's always felt very tongue-in-cheek, and the lyrics are actually funny and amusing. Plus the way he sings though each verse, staggered, almost stumbling over himself to completion, adds a lot of emotion. He's a mastery of long-winded, story songs.
