No episodes in 2016, but I'm looking forward to the S9 soundtrack release. Heaven Sent is incredible - hard to believe that after more than ten years Murray Gold can still top all of his previous work.
I'm sure a series 8 OST will come out sooner or later, but I'm having a hard time waiting as well. In other news, everyone vote up the Dalek picture please.
Kill the Moon had a couple of moments where the theme was thankfully more front and center than before. And Mummy on the Orient Express, wow. The use of the theme at about 37 minutes in is probably my favorite yet, in line with one of the better uses of "I am the Doctor" in Series 5. Then the music at the end after Clara hangs up is AWESOME. Is that a new theme?
Series 8 score sounds great so far, in pace with the generally improved quality of the show this year. The Twelfth Doctor's grand theme is powerful and addictive.
No, nothing since. Apparently The Day of the Doctor was 100% recycled cues, and The Time of the Doctor seems likely to be another Christmas special with a delayed soundtrack release (though the regeneration music was just Infinite Potential).
I'm not really sure which are underrated since many have few shouts on Lastfm, but when I go on YouTube there are fangirls everywhere :3 A Lonely Decision only has two shouts, which is surprising considering it's possibly the most blatant example of emotional manipulation, multiple times, including the "letter" from Amy after she died. It's one of my favorites. Boe is #227 in the past six months, so it's definitely underrated. The End Draws Near is amazing, that whole score is amazing, so I have high hopes for Time of the Doctor (but there's no way it can top End of Time, it just won't). From Series 7, Infinite Potential and A Secret He Will Take To His Grave, both tracks that everyone should love but I'm not sure whether they do.
What is people's most underrated Gold DWHO track? Not a track that everyone loves, suggest a track that people can discover for the first time...For me, The Wonder of Balloons is an amazing romp, but I do adore The Carrionites Swarm.
