pow pow is so bad that it kind of almost ruins the album for me, but then you've got home which is one of the best tracks they ever did... anyway, i wish pow pow and somebody's calling me weren't there.
It's on us, guys! This record will be considered a near flawless classic by future generations, and deservedly so, but only if we keep the conversation going. I want my unborn kids to talk about LCD like we do Talking Heads. Keep the love comin' :)
It's not better than Sound of Silver, but I finally found the place of this album in the LCDS discography, as the grooviest, darkest, most chill-ish album. The one I wanna listen at night after a busy day.
True contender for Album of the Year in my book. I like all the tracks, with "Dance Yrself Clean", "One Touch", "All I Want", "I Can Change", "You Wanted a Hit" and "Somebody's Calling Me" being my favourites. I think I'll even add "Home" to one of my favourites, or one of the best from this album anyway, great, sweet ending track. Even though "Drunk Girls" got me into LCD Soundsystem, I know that it is no way near being their best song. "Pow Pow" seems to be my least favourite from "This Is Happening". Awesome album, I will be definitely buying this on CD.
I loved the first album and Sound Of Silver but this doesn't work for me. Drunk Girl is a nasty White Light/White Heat rip-off while All I Want tries too hard to be "Heroes" and fails miserably. The production is less polished. It seems a little bit rushed. There are some very good songs though (Dance Yrself Clean, I Can Change, You Wanted a Hit).
