2 Jul 2014, 21:21 de xTranquilityxKillswitch Engage. The first major headliner I had to pleasure to see live in concert (I think it was back in January 2007 with Bring Me the Horizon and The Haunted). One of the most influential bands for the development of the whole Metalcore genre. Formative for the evolution of my musical taste (let's face it, KSE is one of the few bands whose member's names I know): Their sophomore album Alive or Just Breathing was one of the first metal records I owned. Especially Jesse Leach's vocals stood out for me. I can still remember arguing with a couple of friends whether Alive or Just Breathing or its successor The End of Heartache featuring the new vocalist Howard Jones was superior - an argument that probably will never end. Howard Jones did an amazing job on the End of Heartache and Killswitch's fourth album As Daylight Dies. However their second self-titled album in 2009 was a dissappointment to me. I don't remember it to be particularly bad however the fact that I cannot recall any of the songs from this album speaks for itself. …

It does not contain all of my albums and EPs, because that would take too long. Here are most of them.

30 Abr 2011, 6:19 de spideralex90Obviously this will be all my opinion and I will 'Leave out so many great albums', these are just a few albums I could not live without and would recommend to those new to the genre and to any metalcore fan in general. Really though this is just a listing of metalcore albums that made an impact on me. I tried to pick one album for each artists to avoid repeat artists, otherwise this would probably only include three artists, I wanted to have some diversity. So without further ado here are my Quintessential Metalcore albums:
10. The Triptych – Demon Hunter
I started listening to DH when I found Summer Of Darkness, and was immediately pulled in, mainly because Ryan Clark’s voice is rather unique and awesome. However I only listened to Summer of Darkness for a while, meanwhile I found heavier bands and Summer Of Darkness started to get a little boring to me, but eventually I found The Triptych. …
