9 Ene 2012, 15:07 de bazinkoHe's a legend without a home.
Outworld. Beyond Twilight. Darkology. And now Epysode.
All basically one-offs. And each one amazing. Sure, each are very creative on their own, but Kelly adds that special ingredient: his pristine vocals.
He has a massive voice with quite a range, but what's special about him is his passion. From the maniacal wailing of Section X to the limit-breaking performance of Outworld.
And that's why he needs a home.
Jorn comes to mind. He has also experimented with multiple side projects throughout his career, but has always had his solo band to fall back on. Why doesn't Kelly have one? Heck, Kelly even reprised Jorn's role as vocalist of Beyond Twilight (and out-performed him if you ask me). He certainly meets the qualifications.
Maybe he doesn't even want one. Too much work, perhaps? Or maybe he's waiting to find the right musicians to collaborate with. He may even lack the songwriting capability. …
2 Ene 2012, 21:04 de RealKustinSo... with another year wrapped up and tons of new songs I've experienced, I could say that this was a real good round! For memory's and for fun's sake, I've listed down a good amount of progressive metal/rock albums and also things sticking outside (sic) that's been released this year. The anticipation value indicated in some albums depict how much expectations I've had for the albums before their release, as well as ratings ending in one of two types whether I might change my mind about later or confirmed.
Ratings do differ between persons, so they represent the way I relate with the albums, not how the albums perform objectively. You're free to check out any of them.
Have fun reading!

21 Dic 2011, 1:33 de within_darkness1. Within Temptation – The Unforgiving is still one of the very few records which got me occupied from the beginning ‘till the very end of 2011 and left no space for competition whatsoever – if you’re into symphonic rock mixed with many other elements such as heavy, pop, even a bit of power, alternative, disco (?!) or you still enjoy your retro vibes spiced up with divine vocals and arrangements, go for it.
2. Rhapsody of Fire – From Chaos To Eternity was THE comeback I was waiting for and it even managed to surpass its titanic predecessor, not to mention to put an end to a beloved saga that's been a part of my life in a most exquisite way. The brilliantly delivered soundscapes go beyond any genres (and combine them all now and then, ffs), shattering the laws of music to pathetic bits and pieces. Glorious and definitely NOT recommended for narrow-minded listeners.
3. Insomnium – One for Sorrow might not be their best one but it surely is “out there somewhere” which tends to happen when a band releases one diamond after another. …
