here's what i have been mostly listening to this week:
2003's self-released ep, which was given a re-release a couple of months back. sounds a lot rougher than Funeral but the songs are still engaging. No Cars Go is adventurous and features a nice coda at the end, while Headlights Look Like Diamonds is charming chamber-pop. well worth a listen.
Every Day and Every Night
from 1999, this ep is one of the most consistent records Bright Eyes has produced. a huge artistic leap from Fever And Mirrors, it features two my personal favourite Bright Eyes tracks, namely A Line Allows Progress, A Circle Does Not and Neely O'Hara, which is an obvious precursor to this year's Digital Ash in a Digital Urn.
