A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to have tickets to see the only UK show on Blackfield's European tour, at The Mean Fiddler in London. That would be exciting enough by itself, but even better, the support band was Pure Reason Revolution, my favourite new band in ages.
Since I was at least as excited about the support band as the main act, I suggested we headed over to the venue a little before doors opened. I think some of the others I was with were humouring me by heading over before doors, but we were soon glad we had, because we found ourselves at the back of an incredibly long queue, snaking back around several blocks heading away from the venue.
With such a long queue ahead of us, I began to worry a little that we might miss some of PRR's set, but in the end we got in in time. The place was absolutely rammed though; we ended up right at the back of the main floor area, although luckily we managed to edge up onto the raised bit in the middle, so we could actually see a bit.

We got to the venue fairly early and found ourselves near the very front of the queue! This meant we got in really quickly once the doors opened and managed to get a spot right at the front! Yay!!!!! :D
Before we got in though.. something hilarious happened in the queue. There were a bunch of girls a few places infront of us, they were there for about an hour and had arrived before us. About 20 minutes before the doors opened it became apparent they were queueing at the qrong venue for the wrong band! LOL!!! they scuttled off quite quickly to find the right place ....every few mins thereafter, the same seemed o happen in various other parts of the queue. Was so funny! :)
The Support Band
Support was by Pure Reason Revolution. This is a band that I have listened to quite a bit but have never really clicked with any of their material. Seeing them live appears to have changed that though, they were awesome!

A wonderful band to get caffeinated to. I love caffeine. Recent favourite songs are Goliaths Disarm Their Davids and Gyroscope. Favourite albums are.. well I love songs off all of them, but right now the favourites are The Jester Race, Come Clarity
2. Katatonia 125
Probably my favourite band at the moment, as of yesterday. Currently I love July and pretty much anything off The Great Cold Distance. Most of their music at the moment I am 100% in love with.
3. Porcupine Tree 113
PT I am finding are very good to relax to. Steven Wilson's voice is very soothing and so easy to listen to. I find this especially with Lazarus
4. Opeth 108
Opeth are my number one awesome favourite band EVER liek z0mfg wtf w00t. Lol, but seriously I love them and I will attack anyone who tells me that Opeth is shit. The Twilight Is My Robe has a special meaning for me as it is mine and Nick's "song" as a couple (cheesy) so its my favourite Opeth song. …

They're a great Synthpop band, a bit like Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys. I remember I was addicted to them when I was about 5 or 6, and a decade later I rediscover their music.
What's on Your Mind
Seek300 2.11 [ This one has great industrial influences ]
This is a side project of Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree. A progrock like sound, but a lot more melodic and atmospheric than Deadwing, like Lightbulb Sun or Stupid Dream.
