  • I thought the new album was going to suck; I'm glad I was wrong.
  • Purple sounds very original, Love it. their best record is still "Blue" though.
  • Purple is weakest and mainstream album, this is not progress for Baroness. Red and Blue the best
  • Ok, Purple is really growing on me. I still don't find it to be all that great, and I dislike the vocals on it, but I am liking it more and more.
  • Purple was definitely a grower for me, but now that I've had plenty of time with it, I'd go as far to say Purple may be my favorite Baroness release. Okay, maybe second only to Blue. The heavy riffing that people miss may not be there, but the band has matured so much and their song-writing skills are top notch. Purple is very triumphant and memorable, and given the context of the album (post-bus crash that could have been the end of Baroness and even their lives and their recovery from that) adds a whole other layer to an already multi-faceted album. I just cant seem to get this album out of my head, and I keep going back for more.
  • Really not impressed by Purple. [2] I wanted to like it. Started out liking it. . . was met with something that was very much not Baroness' sound or usual lyrical content. At points it seemed like something by a band that would be more likely to play at Warped Tour.
  • Did you feel another way. Was it my turn, or yours, to say? Did you find another way?
  • What was the plan here? I can't seem to stop! Pissing and spitting from bottom to top. Picking up viscera, tendons and broken remains.
  • I personally can't get enough of it. It's not that I didn't like Yellow & Green but I completely stopped listening to Baroness at that point (2012). I just naturally moved on to other artists. Purple though reignited my love for them.
  • Really not impressed by Purple.
