These days i do prefer AC/DC over Aerosmith and yes AC/DC has stayed true to its hard rock roots and even the last album sold millions in a climate where rock albums barely sell a half million.Aerosmith on the other hand has watered its sound down to cater to the pop audience they got stuck with when they did all those ballads like I Dont Want To Miss A Thing back in the 90's now they are stuck trying to please hardcore rock fanbase thats been with them forever or the fickle teenage girls who bought millions of their albums for the ballads.
I prefer AC/DC. They know not to water down their rock with overproduction and throwing everything and the kitchen sink against the guitars.
The problem is, that's kind of *all* they know, but what to expect from AC/DC.
Pump to me was the last really good aerosmith album.my first ever concert was aerosmith with joan jett opening on the pump tour back in 89/90.they still had some raw rockin' stuff on this and permanent vacation before it but after pump they got lost with all the ballads and videos.don't get me wrong they had a few ballads on permanent and pump but they totally got soft by the time '93 and get a grip hit.
