Yeah, althought he creates a bit too many albums for me, he made something which no one can copy: unique atmosphere of sadness, anger and pain. I like both "eras" - new and old, just because harsh music became also harsh, but more melodic new-school industrial. The main core remains the same and it's heavenly piercing my heart everytime I listen to, for example, "Cross of Iron". Anyway, I don't want him to end.
Man, I hope he is seriously not going to end Wumpscut. Rumors and indications are existing... While I think that many of his later albums have only a few really good tracks I still have to say that Rudy created something incredible and unique. Would really be a shame having him quit. Especially due to reasons like Pirating... Goddamn buy the music guys... Wüterich is solid by the way.
People, let's finally figure out, how do we pronounce wumpscut? I tend to say it in German, with "v" and "oo", but maybe there is something i don't know? I was able only to google that it's a synthitec word...
Usually artists need around 2 years for a album. At least Dark Electro, EBM, Industrial Genre.
And I usually enjoy them more than Wumpscut albums. There are more good tracks and sometimes not even boring. Sometimes artists need even longer. Best example Grendel.
He took nearly 5 years for his album Timewave Zero and its very good and unique. Harsh Generation was also a masterpiece which took 3 years. However, not sure if he really worked that long on them or also had a long break or made a EP. Takes pretty long though and usually there are only 8 real tracks on his albums. However, they are amazing and I prefer this over releasing an album every year with mostly boring tracks.
Already 5 years ago Alien Vampires released their last album. Really waiting for it. However, they had some EP, single and compilation tracks. I really expect it to be a masterpiece. But this is a downside. Sometimes albums cant stand exceptations.
Well, I think both DrFloccin and xxPostal-DudeXx (btw nice nickname, reminds me about Postal games) are right. In my opinion, :Wumscut: has many good tracks, but it's just two-three for every album. But, I should advert that some albums grew on me in little piece of time: for example, Body Census or Wreath of Barbs. And I don't know many albums well, so I think it need time to dig into them and to find something deeper.
Aside from Bone Peeler, which I love the most and most people hate from what I've heard.. the rest of the albums take time to start to dig. (that is, with a few exceptions like Embryodead). I like the fact that he puts out an album every year. because then if we get 2 great tracks and the rest are OK.. that's more than I can say about almost every other artist where you wait for years and it sucks donkey. just sayin'
Awww man. Wumpscut is a zweischneidiges Schwert as we say in Germany. (One side good, other bad or boring)
I mean I really like some of his tracks or even whole albums, though thats pretty rare. Evoke was great, Fuck it too. But then... Many albums with a few good tracks and the rest being 08/15. At the beginning I had a whole different view of him, mainly because I didnt listen to all of his stuff. But the fact that most of his tracks and releases are 08/15 persist for me. I think there is a reason why he is still pretty famous in the scene. But I personally have the feeling that most of his fans are just collectors. People who enjoy his music because there is a lot to collect... Re-Releases, special editions etc. He is indeed unique in this case but I think music should be about more. Releasing every year another album doesnt make it much better either... Sorry thats just my opinion. Blutspuker Tavern was very boring for me. Not a single track I remember. Maybe the worst ever.
xXPostal-DudeXx glad you checked more :) Same happened to me: when you check more, you realize about quantity of material released and good industrial gems here. Now I'm who must check the bunch of new released albums, I didn't listen him from some years ago...
Ah fuck what I said some months ago.
I listen to some months to this guy now.
And yes, I listened to his whole Discography!
Nothing is missing.
What can I say? Just wow. For the fact that he releases every year a album his stuff has good quality. I cant tell of any bad album except maybe Bone Peeler. No clue, album just doesnt get me. And yes I already listened 2 times and more to all his stuff. There are a lot of good songs on his releases even though some are 08/15. I really like this music. Its different from the usual Industrial. Wumpscut already took place 2 in my most listened bands, mainly because of the amount of stuff. Definitely worth a listen not as boring as I thought. My favorite album is probably Evoke even though this album is handled as one of the worst. Nearly every track on this album is great especially Churist Churist, Hold, Don't Go, Breathe. Well enough. Good stuff!
bulwark bazooka (boring edition)
Protip: work on your next album at least two years and flesh your songs out a bit and give them some love instead of treating them as trash. People will eventually stop buying your albums when they sound uninspired.
i started with embryodead and dried blood of gomorrha in 1998 and thats all i think is worth listening to. eevil young flesh and bunker gate 7 are ok. the rest is stupid garbage and gets worse every year. face it.
lol i just saw allyour mortiis plays. i'm sorry man i don't mean to mock mentally deficient people.
There is no "new-old" :Wumpscut: ! Face it. The problem many people and especially new listeners can't get inside their heads. You either like :\\\\//\\\\//: or you don't ! I am not pounding my chests by claiming that i am an old-school fan. I even started with "Evoke" and liked his late works more. It's just a matter or taste really. Rudy is a one crazy son of a gun and that is why is respect his works so much. The crazier his music sounds, the better ! Also "Bulwark Bazooka" is an insane piece of work.
