    Game: Song Association

Ok, totally just made this up, so might not work, but here goes.

We're all about word games, and we're on a music site, so how about a song association game? A bit like word association, except we post songs the previous song reminds us of.

So, for example, Abba - Chiquitita makes me think of BeeGees - Massachussetts. (cos Chiquitita = 'take your teeth out', and Massachussetts - 'mass of chew sets') Teeth! Hahaha! Alright, that was a bit silly, but whatever comes to mind, that's the idea. :D

    So, I'll start:

M.I.A. - Jimmy (my song of the week, totally addicted to it)

    How about:

Sheena Easton's Jimmy Mack (originally by Martha and The Vandellas)

P.S. Followed your link to the Jimmy video. Very fun!

Glad you liked it! I'm soooo addicted to it this week. : )

Ok, Jimmy Mack makes me think of another track I'm mad about - The Young Holt Trio's -
Wack Wack. Just cos it rhymes I suppose!

    Ooh, this is fun.

Wack Wack makes me think of Lizzie Borden (who allegedly whacked her parents to death) which makes me think of the band Thin Lizzy. I'm not familiar with their music, but they have a song called Waiting for an Alibi which fits my train of thought perfectly!

I'm thinking about Fiona Apple's Criminal

The word 'Criminal' makes me think of really bad songs, so what's the worst song I've heard lately? ... sooo many to choose from... well, most of Bjork's new album, Volta, is criminally indulgent, so if I'm to pick a track, I'd say The Dull Flame Of Desire, which I can't stand! *sticks fingers in ears, even though it's only a 30 sec preview). :s

Hmm...Dull, Flame, Desire. Those words bring to mind so many songs.

This song probably makes it to a lot of worst song lists too, The Bangles' Eternal Flame.

That Bjork song hurts the ears!

Wasn't getting anything at first, but the word better just makes me think of The Who's You Better You Bet.

When that was out, I was mad about Japan and felt Bowie was stealing their thunder. So Visions Of China is my song.

Hmm, Mad = Crazy, which makes me think of They're Coming To Take Me Away by Napoleon XIV. I used to love listening to the Dr. Demento hour on the radio.

Now you've got it going round my head! Not the Thompson Twins but Robert Palmer with Bad Case of Loving You. It's the "Doctor, doctor" bit.

Think I'm really showing my age...
