I'm trying out Amarok, again on my new Linux Mint 17 KDE install. There is much positive to say about Amarok, but there are still a few things I wish could be better. Coming from Quod Libet, I wish it could handle multiple instances of tags for the artists etc. But we'll give it a go and see how it handles large libraries.

Finally I have Linux back installed (Linux Mint 17.1 64-bit KDE - LTS, codename "Rebecca"), in a Grub dual-boot option with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Works like a charm on my Sony Vaio laptop pc! And so does this pre-installed audioplayer, Amarok. Thumbs up! True love never dies, I've been using Linux since back in 1994 (Slackware 3.4, afterwards S.U.S.E 6.0, Red Hat in early 2000's and on older desktops, lateron Ubuntu 9.10, Xubuntu 12.04 - XFCE desktop (previously Gnome but since horrible Unity desktop came into place.... you know) ... and now on a much faster quad core powerful HD-laptop I'm quite impressed about Mint KDE 64-bit ;-) Hope it stays that way!

Anyone having the same issue as andrewlorien and Spacepengu, this thread proved very helpful http://askubuntu.com/questions/254826/how-to-force-a-clock-update-using-ntp Probably an unsyced system clock as stated here: http://www.last.fm/forum/34905/_/2238447/1#f20925137 (Which doesn't have anything to do with Amarok, though it could seem it does.)

Kde and Amarok-amazing music diversity and geeky fun! Haven't tried this combo for a couple of years-They have both done some growing up, and I have a bit more time on my hands to tinker..

I don't know why some people says such things like "Good bye amarok, but clementine..." or "Srry amarok but you can't handle a playlist with +100 files at once" Don't know if is my pc or something else, but my collection is +3000 files (a mix of mp3, flac, ogg, etc) and never have that kind of problems (have another ones, but was my fault... was about mysql server at home for keep track of my coll) I don't know about another player that can do that amarok did and do right now, and I use, not at 100% but almost of the features, and I'm really thankful to the developers.

Strictly speaking, this doesn't have anything to do with amarok, but there is some overlap between Creative Commons music and free software, so I thought I would share. I now do scheduling for http://rynothebearded.com. Any Creative Commons bands should get in touch with me about an interview! You can hit me up here or email me at dw11@unhlaw.unh.edu. Also, Ryno is very anti-Linux and it would be good to get some people on his show to tell him that audio works fine on GNU/Linux.

I like this, however is it possible to use this with the last.fm scrobbler app? I like the wiki option and the lyrics and overall this player is good, but i still prefer having the last.fm scrobbler app to see tags, related artists, ect (other stat data from last.fm)

It seems that Amarok sometimes makes duplicate scrobbles.

Same problem as Spacepengu, exactly. It's very strange, watching the track appear in "now playing" on last.fm, then disappear...

New ART OF INFINITY video "Warm Waterfalls (official video)" With "Warm Waterfalls" Paulina Zemojtel and Anja Mainz produced a fascinating Fantasy-Music-Video. Pictures of mystic elves merging art and music with the gently voice of singer Alquimia. The guitars in epic track "Warm Waterfalls", performed by Klaus Major Heuser, reminds listeners to the atmosphere of Pink Floyd. Maybe this is ART OF INFINITY's best produced New Age-Music track ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMHMSdQi_jM

I can't scrobble anymore with Amarok... My recent tracks list here on last.fm shows the current track but it is never saved in the list and in my stats. Anyone else with this problem? Any ideas? New artists I hear are added to my last.fm collection but appear as never played... I'm using Amarok 2.7.1-90 (siduction)... Scrobbling with qmmp and deadbeef works fine.
