A fan tribute to Gene Eugene is in the works! Planned for "early 2010."

I had the incredible, incredible opportunity to have recorded with Gene (in the Green Room of course) back in '95. I was young, ignorant and probably really annoying, but Gene was just so genuinely and cool to me and he had this strange charisma that just made you listen to him. I'll never forget sitting on his roof jamming with him and listening to him rap about the local music scene. He was one of a kind.

I've been a big fan of Gene Eugene's work ever since I finally realized the genius of Adam Agains 10 Songs album (it took me awhile). I'd like to point Gene Eugene fans in a few directions. First, there's an excellent Gene Eugene tribute issue of Down The Line magazine located here: Second, I started a Lost Dogs fan group because I couldn't find one:

Went to see Adam Again way back and they had to cancel last minute, family emergency, and Dig Hay Zoose played the whole set. You are missed Gene......."he fell across the Great Divide".

Blessing in disguise is one of the best songs ever written and performed. I was saved around 94, in my 20's. My first memorable exposure to The Lost Dogs and Gene's influence was through that song. Cheapskates softerside compilation. I cried like a baby. It seems that Gene, Rich Mullins, Larry Norman and Keith Green all went to quickly. The Lord knows why. I wonder what it would be like with all of them here still writing, singing and impacting all of us for Christ.

I came to hear of Gene Eugene through his work with Starflyer 59. His influence as a musician and producer is still appreciated and missed.

I loved the Swirling Eddies (can you tell by my picture) even though I didn't really understand them and was worried that I should have. Anything Gene did - I loved. Adam Again, Lost Dogs, even to The Choir. His message lives on & still impacts me. He deserved a much wider, larger audience. His untimely death, ripped from us so soon, is another of those questions I'll ask my Lord when it's my time

Agreed. I joined just to show my support for Gene Eugene. Adam Again and the Swirling Eddies are two of my favorites.

It could well be that I'm the only person who ever joins this group. I hope not, though, because that would be a tremendous shame...
