This group is for people who enjoy wasting time organizing their digital or physical music libraries.

Do you store your collection of vinyls/cd's/dvd's/cassettes sorting them by artist/album name?

Does it bother you when a song/album in your digital library has no tags?

Do you go online to look for album arts which are not displayed on your albums?

Do you ENJOY doing all this stuff?

If yes, then this group is for you! Grab your cup of tea/coffee or sip on your favourite wlne and RELAX while enjoying this tag-editing therapy.... and the music ofcourse :)
We hate messy music libraries!

Cool group! It raises a legitimate concern for some real music listeners! I'm in!

I used to play my music like that pic on the main wall. I'd sit on my floor and surround myself with my albums/cassettes as I was listening so I could admire them. I also used to hang my albums on the wall and they became my room's wallpaper. The madness hasn't ended 20 years later --I bet my iTunes is more organized that yours! lol.

I really want a media player update that allows me to list a release as "EP" "demo" "full album" "live album" "compilation album" etc because right now every single thing is listed simply as an album and I want to categorize them into the right release type, something like metal archives.

I usually take a few days every month to organize all the new folders i have on my computer with music in them. Itunes has been killing me with tagging lately, I'll spend like a half an hour changing all of my wrong tags to the right ones and when I sync my Ipod they won't change at all -_-

I'm like halfways in organizing my digital library and it's totally killing me, because on one side I'd like to finally be through with it, but on the other it seems completely pointless and time-wasting at times. it's worst when I have something important to do, but keep on tagging just because I started and can't really stop. but hey, there's a beautiful side: I can always come here and write about it. ;p

btw, Maybe tagging is a little bit exhausting, but still it's addictive :)

I wonder how it happens that every year (approximately) I have so many changes in my tags.

I organize numbers, dates, folder by folder, discography by discography, album art, names spelled correctly, just complete cds. is great to see everything in order. just do not like tags and organize by genre.

Ha. I've got like 100 genres. I try not to make too many unnecessary subgenres... don't want to have half of my genres only having one or two artists in them. So like... no separate genres for progressive death metal, regular death metal, and melodic death metal for the time being. Etc.

Kudos on the high fidelity video! I love that film. I too am an organizer freak. I thought I was the only one, too. I'm also sick and tired of Greatest Hits. I'm ridding my library of them as we speak. It can get grueling, as it removes a lot of my scrobbles but oh well. It's for a good reason.

It pisses me off so much when i look at someone's Ipod or Itunes/Winamp/etc and theres like 5 slots for the same artist (The Beatles, Beatles, The Beatlez, etc) and album art, incorrect album names and no genre.. ARRRRRRRGH IT MAKES ME WANNA RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!
