Mine is HIStory. I think when he wrote the songs for this album he was angry, thanks to 1993. Maybe anger is one of the best emotions to feel when writing.

What do you think? When was Michael best for writing songs, in your opinion?

    HIStory

I would go with HIStory, definitaly. It has it all... angry songs like Scream, TDCAU, D.S. and Tabloid Junkie, political songs like Earth Song (i see it as political), fresh tracks like Money and 2 bad and of cource the phenemonemal ballads, like Little Susie and Childhood.

Michael has always been a terrific songwriter, but I would say I like his songs from 95 - 97 the most. However, that may change due to me going into another kind of "´Michael-period" =)

  • Errr, I don't know. It's tough to choose. I really did love Dangerous, but I love the earlier stuff too, i.e. Thriller. I think Thriller would probably be the one that I would take to a deserted island.

But some of my favourite songs of his are "Stranger in Moscow" and "Give In To Me"... Oh, and "Who Is It?" I also heard that Invincible was a good album in spite of poor record sales. I've heard a couple of songs from it and I did like them.

"We've graduated now from [being called] 'the next Jane's Addiction' to 'the next Nirvana,' now we're 'the next Pearl Jam.'" (Billy Corgan, 1993)

Got to be HIStory for me, it's just full of great tracks one after the other. But Dangerous is very good too :)

  • although history is underrated, it's still an un-even album. as an album i'd say thriller and the ever underrated bad are his best albums, but personally i prefer the perfect dangerous a-side, and some of the tracks on the b-side. off the wall is slight over-rated i think, a great sounding record, but as far as songwriting goes i think it's rather dull actually.

  • Thriller and Bad. They are so incredibly packed with great hits

It's dificult to say just one. For me the most special is Dangerous. It was my first MJ album. But I really love Off The Wall and HIStory, and also his work at Motown. And what about Bad or Thriller? I can't say just one :)

Ben :D - Nah but I like ''People Make The World Go Round'' from that album.

My favourite was ''Bad'' for such a long time but I think it's probably ''Off the Wall'' now, gotta love the funk!
